3 October 2019 (ORCNS) - The second of October, the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels in the Catholic liturgical calendar, is also the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence. This year marks the 150th birthday celebration of the Indian civil rights leader. At an event held at the University of Minnesota Crookston, Cardinal-Count Don Rutherford I, Archprince-Bishop and Imperial Patriarch gave an invited speech on the application of Gandhi's principle of nonviolence to analyse the origins and potential alternative outcomes of the Great War (otherwise known as World War I) had nonviolent approaches been used.
